The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) expresses its gratitude to Representative Susan Bonamici (D-OR) for introducing House Resolution 1462<\/a> and to Senator Christopher Murphy (D-CT) for introducing Senate Resolution 826<\/a> designating September 16 through September 20, 2024, as Malnutrition Awareness Week.TM<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also extend our thanks to Representative Don Bacon (R-NE), Representative James McGovern (D-MA), Representative Mike Lawler (R-NY), Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), Representative Sanford Bishop (D-GA), Representer André Carson (D-IN), and Representative Jill Tokuda (D-HI) for cosponsoring House Resolution 1462.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malnutrition is a serious health concern that affects every system in the body. It can increase the risk of infections, contribute to slow healing, result in longer hospital stays, and even increase the risk of death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
