Malnutrition Awareness Week™ (MAW) is an educational campaign founded in 2012 by ASPEN to address the critical issue of malnutrition in healthcare, especially among hospitalized patients. The campaign’s success has elevated malnutrition as a global health priority and inspired other organizations to initiate similar awareness efforts.
With the support of organization ambassadors, corporate sponsors, and collaboration with like-minded societies, MAW has expanded its global presence, engaging millions of healthcare professionals, policymakers, patients, and caregivers.
Each year, ASPEN hosts a week of educational webinars and provides complimentary clinical tools and patient resources to help identify, treat, and prevent malnutrition.
In 2024, ASPEN Malnutrition Awareness Week reached over 328 million worldwide!
Malnutrition Awareness WeekTM is a mark of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN).
